The Association Wiessing – Van den Eeckhout or 14.08.1877

The Wiessing – Van den Eeckhout Association was founded in 1982 to enliven the contact between the descendants of the couple Mathilde Coleta Francisca van den Eeckhout (1850-1925) and Marinus Jacob Wiessing (1851-1918). The couple married on 14 August 1877 in Graauw (Zeeland).

 

Annual meeting

At least once a year, usually at the end of September, the members of the association get together for a day or a weekend. Non-members, but descendants, and therefore all relatives or equivalent (partners of descendants) and interested parties are welcome on the Sunday of the annual meeting to share in the activities of the day and get to know the other descendants present. .

 

Organization

The association has a board that usually consists of three members: the chairman, the treasurer and the secretary. Each board member is elected for three years. Succession is arranged in such a way that every year one of the board members resigns and a family member succeeds him/her.

New Year's drink

In the first week of the new year, a moment is reserved to hold a joint New Year's drink at one of the members' homes, where we can wish each other all the best for the new year.
 

Anniversary

Every five years, xxx7 and xxx3, we celebrate the anniversary of our association with a large group of descendants from America and Russia and Sweden and Portugal, and everything in between.
